Description
The TEMB is a screw-in temperature sensor with Pt100, measuring amplifier, display, and two limit contacts, manufacturer type Müller METS-WS.
It is screwed directly into pipes, tanks or units and measures, displays, and switches, without additional electronics in the control cabinet – one device at the process, one signal to the control system, one value to read on site. The protective tube is made of stainless steel 1.4571 in standard dimensions Ø 6 × 0.5 mm; with PN 25, at least IP 65 and potted circuit boards, the device weighs approximately 150 g, and the mounting position is arbitrary.
The measured value remains readable on site: The display is 4-digit, 8.5 mm high and red, reversible by 180°, the head is rotatable by 330°. Operation is via three buttons (TouchM). The two limit contacts operate as PNP or NPN with 30 VDC / 200 mA, optionally 1000 mA; switching delay and failsafe are adjustable from 0.0 … 999.9 s.
Measurement is performed with a Pt100 in 4-wire connection in class A, B or AA (B1/3 DIN) in the range -50 … +200 °C with a minimum span of 50 °C. The output is 4 … 20 mA in the 2-wire current loop; the accuracy is max. 0.1 % of the measuring range plus sensor error at 24 bit resolution. The sensor is powered with 12 … 35 VDC from the current loop, reverse polarity protected and short-circuit proof.
Before ordering, please note: The ambient temperature is not the medium temperature – the medium may be up to +200 °C warm, but the electronics in the head can only tolerate -40 … +85 °C; the manufacturer explicitly states for the series that temperatures above +85 °C can destroy the electronics. Two limit contacts are not available on every connector, but only on M12 five- and eight-pin, on MIL, and on the cable. Higher ranges up to 250 °C are only mentioned in the data sheet upon request. An admissible load of the current loop is not documented in the manufacturer's data sheet; if planning long lines, the value must be inquired there. For programming, the configurator DEV-KMA with TrComm software is required. A CE mark is not documented in the manufacturer's data sheet, and a declaration of conformity is not available. Explosion protection is also not documented for this version; the Ex version is the TEMD (METS-WTEx).
