Infrared temperature sensors

An infrared sensor measures without touching the target – on moving parts, on very hot surfaces, on delicate material, and wherever a protective tube cannot be installed. It evaluates thermal radiation and has the reading within milliseconds.

Two figures decide the selection: the optical resolution, because the measuring spot grows with distance and the target must be at least as large as the spot – and the emissivity of the surface, which is set at the sensor. For measurement in contact with the medium, see the screw-in sensors.
