Description
The TCMF is a cable sensor with a fitting piece in the GL type-approved version, manufacturer type Müller WT-KHG.
It measures where a mounting bore is already present and type approval is also required: The fitting piece, a cast sleeve made of 1.4571, sits on the protective tube and guides the sensor precisely into the bore – a thread or a flange is not necessary for this; you specify the diameter and length. The protective tube made of 1.4571 (316Ti) is approved up to 600 °C and is available in Ø 4, 5, or 6 mm; the nominal lengths are between 25 and 65 mm. The protection class is IP 65 up to 250 °C.
It differs from the TCME by its type approval: The manufacturer's sheet shows the GL mark with the number GL TAA00002H5. For this, this version is shorter – the maximum length is 200 mm instead of 2000 mm, and the cable is at most 6 m. It also does not have a terminal compartment or electronics: The resistance value is directly at open, bare ends of 70 mm; a transmitter is not documented.
Measurements are taken with a Pt100 or Pt1000, single or double, in 2-, 3-, or 4-wire configuration and without insulating material. The sensor's operating range extends from -200 ... +450 °C; the accuracy can be ordered in five stages from Class A to B1/10DIN. For insulation, the manufacturer specifies a test voltage of 500 VDC.
Note before ordering: The approval is documented as a mark and number, not as a certificate – the manufacturer's sheet does not name a certifying body, and we do not have the certificate itself; it should be requested before making an assurance to a classification society. The fitting piece is not a documented sealing element: The datasheet does not specify system pressure, sealing effect, or installation tolerance. The operating range is determined by the cable, not the sensor – PVC only withstands -5 ... +70 °C, glass fiber -60 ... +550 °C, and the cable is in the environment, which is not the medium temperature. Terminal assignment is not documented, neither wire color nor terminal number. The source does not specify a standard for the accuracy classes; CE mark and explosion protection are not documented. Both versions carry the product identification KV and are distinguished solely by the "sensor element" location: 4 ... 7 is the WT-KHG, 0 ... 3 is the WT-KH.
