Description
The TEME is a compact screw-in temperature sensor with a programmable transmitter, manufacturer type Müller MKTS.
It measures where temperature is taken directly in the medium: in pipelines, tanks, hydraulic and cooling circuits. The sensor tube and housing are made of stainless steel 1.4571, the sensor is potted and protected with IP 68, and the system pressure is max. 25 bar. At around 200 g and with a sensor tube of Ø 6 mm, it is small enough for confined installation situations, and the mounting position is arbitrary.
Because the sensor, output, process connection, and connector can be freely combined, a single design covers a wide variety of systems – from a bare Pt100 directly on the connector to a CANopen node according to CiA 404, from pipe threads to connectors for mobile machines and vehicles (Deutsch DT04, Super Seal, Bayonet, MIL). Instead of stocking a separate device for each signal type and each part of the system, you order the same basic form in the appropriate configuration.
Measurement is performed with one or two Pt100 or Pt1000 in the range of -50 ... +200 °C with a minimum span of 50 K. The transmitter operates with 24-bit resolution and an accuracy of max. 0.1% of the range plus sensor error; for CANopen, it is ±0.1 K with a 20 ms conversion time. Two measuring elements are only possible in the version without a transmitter.
Before ordering, please note: The ambient temperature is not the medium temperature – the medium can be up to +200 °C, but the electronics in the head with a transmitter can only tolerate -20 ... +80 °C, and without a transmitter -30 ... +100 °C. The 0.1% only applies between 0 and +40 °C ambient temperature. The CANopen transmitter is calibrated at the factory and cannot be configured afterwards; the analog output can be set with the DEV-KMA configurator and TrComm software. The MK identifier is used three times by this manufacturer (MKTS, MKTS-GL, MKTS-SP) – please state the type designation in plain text when inquiring. The EC declaration of conformity is available, but it dates from 25.07.2011 and still refers to directives 2004/108/EC and 97/23/EC, which were replaced in 2016; the datasheet itself does not show a CE mark. Explosion protection is not documented; the intrinsically safe version is the TEMG (MKTS-Ex).
