Description
The TEMC is a screw-in temperature sensor with Pt100 and a HART-enabled measuring transducer, manufacturer type Müller METS-WT.
It is screwed directly into the pipe, tank or unit and measures where the temperature originates. The thermowell is made of stainless steel 1.4571 with standard dimensions Ø 6 × 0.5 mm, the housing body is made of PBT GF30; with PN 25, at least IP 65 and encapsulated circuit boards, the device can be mounted in any position on the process, a 100 mm neck tube is available as an option.
It is the slim version of the series: no display, no buttons, no limit value contacts. It is intended for systems where the evaluation is done in the control room anyway and only measurement and transmission take place at the process. The electrical connection is on the side, optionally on the top – this determines the space next to the process connection.
Measurements are taken with a Pt100 in a 2-wire circuit in Class A, B or AA (B1/3 DIN) in the range -50 … +200 °C with a minimum span of 50 °C. The output is 4 … 20 mA with superimposed HART signal in the 2-wire current loop, temperature-linear; the accuracy is 0.3 % of the range at 16 bit resolution, the measurement rate is 10 measurements per second. The sensor is supplied with 12 … 40 VDC from the current loop, with reverse polarity protection.
Note before ordering: The ambient temperature is not the medium temperature – the medium may be up to +200 °C, the electronics in the head only -20 … +80 °C. The manufacturer's note states +85 °C, the characteristic values of this sheet only +80 °C; the lower value should be used for design. Without the configurator, this product cannot be adjusted: it has neither display nor buttons, any change to the measuring range requires the DEV-KMA and the TrComm software. A permissible burden of the current loop is not documented in the manufacturer's data sheet – for HART in long cables, the value should be requested there. Higher ranges are not mentioned in this data sheet. A CE mark is not documented in the manufacturer's data sheet, a declaration of conformity is not available. Explosion protection is not documented; the Ex version is the TEMD (METS-WTEx), the version with display and two limit value contacts is the TEMB (METS-WS).
