Description
The TKMA is a thermocouple with connection head B, manufacturer type Müller TE-MR1.
It is designed for permanent installation in pipes, tanks, and systems where the measuring point requires a wired connection. The aluminum connection head is located above the process, accommodates a ceramic terminal block with connection posts, and routes the cable through an M20x1.5 gland; the process connection M24x1.5 is located on the head, and the protection class is IP 54. The protection tube made of 1.4571 (316Ti) or 2.4816 (Inconel 600) withstands temperatures up to 600 °C or 1100 °C, respectively. Nominal lengths range from 50 to 1000 mm, with a maximum length of 2000 mm.
Two designs cover both mounting types: the screw-in sensor (ES) with process thread on the pipe and the immersion sensor (ET), which is mounted with accessories; available with twelve protection tube diameters from 1.5 to 15 mm. In the case of the mineral-insulated cable element, the first approximately 50 mm from the head are rigid, the rest flexible – allowing the sensor to be guided to the measuring point even without straight access. The manufacturer lists connection cables, compression fittings, and a transmitter as accessories.
The measuring element is a thermocouple Type J (Fe-CuNi) or Type K (NiCr-Ni), single or double, as a standard element or as a mineral-insulated cable element. The operating range for Type J is from -200 ... +700 °C, for Type K from -200 ... +1000 °C; the limit deviation follows DIN EN 60584-2 Class 1 with ±1.5 °C from -40 ... 375 °C and above ±0.004|t|. The thermoelectric voltage is available at the ceramic terminal block in the head, and the test voltage is 500 VDC.
Before ordering, please note: The ambient temperature is not the medium temperature – the connection head is limited to 480 °C, while the measuring element reaches up to 1000 °C; here, the head, not the element, is decisive. The accuracy table for Type J extends to 750 °C, but the operating range up to 700 °C is authoritative. IP 54 applies only to the connection head; the source does not specify a protection class for the protection tube. For the transmitter, it does not specify the type, output signal, or power supply, and terminal assignment is also missing. Weight, system pressure, CE mark, and explosion protection are not documented, and DIN EN 60584-2 Class 1 is not a product approval; this version does not have type approval. The GL version is the TKMB (TE-MR1G, TAA00002H3); both carry the product identifier KC, distinguished only by the first digit – 0 ... 3 for TKMA, 4 ... 7 for TKMB.
