Description

The EALAA is the IP67 enclosure for the analogue TLC weight transmitter — the EOLA in the octogon range. The manufacturer lists it under the article number CASTLC and offers it as an option to the transmitter.

The enclosure takes the transmitter board and protects it to IP67. It measures 94 × 53 × 40 mm including the two M12 × 1.5 cable glands. It is fixed through two Ø 4 mm holes lying diagonally opposite — 38 mm apart horizontally and 40 mm vertically, each 6 mm from the two nearest edges. These three dimensions are read off the manufacturer's drawing.

Two versions — and the difference is not mechanical

The enclosure comes in ABS and in polycarbonate. In shape and in every figure the manufacturer gives, the two are identical. Only the polycarbonate version is UL certified; the ABS one is not. And the manufacturer gives a single article code for both, CASTLC — which version an order delivers therefore has to be agreed with the order. The price shown here is for the ABS version; polycarbonate is supplied on request.

What the manufacturer does not state for this enclosure

We only write down what is documented. For this enclosure the source gives no material or flammability class (a class such as UL 94 V-0 appears nowhere), no temperature range, no sealing material, no impact resistance, no UV resistance, no colour, no weight, no clamping range for the glands and no scope of delivery. Internal dimensions, a section view and how the board is fixed inside are not documented either.

Important about the temperature figures: the values −20 … +60 °C operating and −30 … +80 °C storage that appear in the product sheet belong to the TLC transmitter, not to this enclosure. An enclosure material has limits of its own, and ABS and polycarbonate differ. We therefore do not carry those values over.

Conformity: for the enclosure itself nothing is documented beyond IP67 and the UL certification of the polycarbonate version — no CE mark, no UKCA, no declaration of conformity. The UKCA and cULus marks on the product sheet belong to the transmitter.
