The EOMA is a programmable universal transducer as an OEM board, type MATU.
One board covers seven sensor types: It converts the signal from a temperature, force, or pressure sensor into a standardized analog signal for control. The sensor type and measuring range are programmed, meaning one item in stock replaces several specialized transducers.
Inputs include Pt100 and Pt1000 in 4-, 3- or 2-wire circuits (sensor current 0.25 mA), thermocouples of types J, K, and N, a strain gauge full bridge from 350 Ω (bridge excitation 1.25 VDC for 2-wire, 3 VDC for 3-wire), current and voltage with 0 … 20 mA, 0 … 1 V and 0 … 10 V, and a potentiometer from 350 Ω to 100 kΩ. Three digital inputs and outputs with 3.3 V / 2 mA are available as an option.
Outputs are 4 … 20 mA in 2- or 3-wire circuits or 0 … 10 V, optionally as 0.5 … 10.5 V or 2 … 10 V. The resolution is 24 bit, the accuracy is max. 0.1 % of the nominal range plus sensor error. A fault signal indicates short circuit and under-range with less than 3.6 mA and sensor break with over 21 mA. The filter is adjustable from 5 to 5000 ms.
The rectangular form factor measures 35 × 18 × 4 mm, the round form factor 31.4 × 28.6 × 4.8 mm with an Ø 8 mm hole; changing the form factor is not a one-to-one replacement as the solder pads are arranged differently. The weight is approx. 3.5 g, the operating range is -40 … +85 °C. The board is powered with 9 … 35 VDC on the current output and 12 … 35 VDC on the voltage output; reverse polarity is protected, the short-circuit current is fixed.
The board is rated IP00 and must be installed in an enclosure. It is tested according to EN 61000-6-2:2019-11 and EN 61000-6-4:2020-09. A CE mark is not documented in the manufacturer's datasheet; a declaration of conformity must be requested before placing on the market in the EU. For hazardous areas, the EOMB version with ATEX and IECEx certification is available. The DEV-KMA configurator with TrComm software is used for configuration and calibration.
