Description
The EFMI is the ATEX and IECEx approved handheld display of the X24 series — the only receiver that can be operated even in hazardous areas. It displays measurement values from X24 and T24 transmitter modules wirelessly, without cables to the sensor.
The marking is I M2 Ex ib I and II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb at Ta = −20 to +50 °C. The device is powered by two Energizer L91 lithium cells in AA size — other cells are not permitted, and cell replacement must not be carried out in an explosive atmosphere. The cells themselves are Ex-certified.
The display can show any detected transmitter or up to 24 pre-stored transmitter modules, which the operator can scroll through. Up to eight group totals can be formed. Each group and each individual module gets its own designation, scaling, display format, zero function, and overload threshold. Six membrane keys on the front panel are used for operation; labeling strips can be inserted behind the transparent windows.
The radio link operates on the license-free 2.4 GHz band using DSSS technology with 10 mW and 15 channels. The antenna is built into the housing, so special mounting regulations are not required. With the permitted L91 cells, the manufacturer specifies 54 hours of continuous operation and more than five years of standby time when switched off.
