Description
The EFME is the smallest radio base station in the T24 series: a USB stick that establishes a wireless connection to the T24 transmitter modules. No cables, no external power supply — it is powered via the USB port. This allows radio telemetry to be set up, calibrated, and monitored from any Windows computer or tablet.
The module sends and receives. This enables error detection and correction over the radio link, configuration and calibration of the T24 transmitters via radio, and their remote control from the computer. Despite its small size, the EFME can be used with all T24 transmitter modules.
Two points should be considered during planning: The free T24 Toolkit must be installed before plugging it in for the first time, as it includes the necessary drivers. Also, only one T24-BSd can operate per computer — if multiple base stations are required on a single computer, the T24-BSi is the right choice. The base station monitors one radio channel; all modules must be set to the same channel. The bandwidth is sufficient for approximately 200 measured values per second per channel, with mixed sensor types being supported.
The radio link operates in the license-free 2.4 GHz band using DSSS technology with 10 mW transmission power. The range of up to 500 m applies to line-of-sight in an open field at a height of 3 m. The EFME itself does not require calibration — it calibrates the other T24 devices.
