Description

The QBKA is an orifice plate as a primary differential pressure element for liquids, gases and steam from DN 50. It is particularly suited to applications where the plate type is matched to medium and pipe and the bore is calculated for the process data of the individual case.

Differential pressure principle; the pressure drop is proportional to the square of the flow rate. Standard orifice plate to ISO 5167-2 from DN 50, beta 0.20 … 0.75, accuracy ≤ ± 0.5 %, repeatability 0.1 %. Quarter round or tapered plate for liquids at low Reynolds number with ≤ ± 2 %. Eccentric plate to ISO/TR 15377 above DN 100 with ± 2.0 … 2.5 %, segmental orifice to ISO/TR 15377 from DN 100 with ± 1 … 2 %. The plate has no supply, no output, no protection grade and no display; a separate differential pressure transmitter provides the signal.

Material stainless steel, alternatively Hastelloy C276, Monel 400 or duplex steel, orifice plate of the ring chamber stainless steel 316/316L. Nominal pressure to customer requirements. Raised sealing face with 125 … 250 AARH to ASME B16.5, optional ring joint to API 6A, ASME B16.47 Series A or BS 1560, optional vent or drain hole. A declaration of conformity is not documented in the data sheet. Before sizing, note: The header gives the accuracy as a share of actual flow, the table as a share of full range flow. No beta range is given for the quarter round and tapered plate. The design standard of that plate is not stated unambiguously (ASME MFC).
