FUMA Ultrasonic Sensor: Precise Level and Distance Measurement

The FUMA ultrasonic sensor from Octogon Messtechnik is the ideal solution for reliable distance and level measurement, web tension control, and presence detection. The device operates on the proven principle of signal transit time: It emits ultrasonic pulses towards the product surface, measures the time until the reflected echo arrives, and precisely calculates the distance from this. Integrated temperature compensation automatically compensates for temperature-related changes in sound velocity.

Smart Operation and Clear Display

The sensor is equipped with a red, 4-digit 7-segment LED display. For optimal readability in any installation situation, the display head can be rotated by approx. 330°. The measurement ranges and limit values are configured directly on the device using three integrated buttons with TouchM technology.

Versatile Outputs and Interfaces

For seamless integration into your plant control system, the FUMA offers an analog 4...20 mA output in a 3-wire system. Additionally, it has two electronic limit contacts that can be flexibly configured as PNP or NPN switching outputs.

Robust Design for Industry

The process connection of the FUMA is made of high-quality stainless steel 1.4571 as standard. For special applications, plastic versions made of PA6, PVC, or POM are optionally available. The sensor can withstand a maximum system pressure of 10 bar.
